Bug and Bee House

Fancy a few friendly neighbours? Pop a few of our gorgeous bug and bee homes around your garden and you’ll have some friendly pollinators and brilliant  bugs in no time.

We recommend dotting them in some quiet spots and on a warm summer’s eve check up on them to see what sort of insects have taken residence. If you are lucky you may find solitary bees, ladybirds, and other garden beneficial insects such as lacewings.

It’s manufactured from durable natural FSC certified timber and painted in an attractive soft green water based paint so will suit any country cottage or shabby chic inspired space.

Butterfly habitat

We bet you never knew you could provide a home for butterflies!

This particular butterfly habitat provides both a summer and winter house for butterflies. In summer it can be used as a nectar feeder packed full of sweet ripe fruits and in winter it makes a cosy over-wintering home for non-migratory butterflies.

This one comes in a gorgeous ‘pop’ blue and instructions to create the ideal butterfly habitat are included on the inside of the product wrap. Site the butterfly habitat in a sunny sheltered position, out of prevailing winds.

The nectar pots should be regularly filled with Wildlife World Butterfly Food with added vitamins or a sugar water solution. Feeding is especially effective in early spring and late summer when natural nectar is scarce. Place over ripe fruit in the central plastic bowl, the sweeter the better.

Once you’ve put it up, you’ll be all set to do the Big Butterfly Count in the summer!

Frogilo frog and toad house

Love frogs and toads as much as we do? Then give them a warm, safe place to rest.

Made from frost resistant ceramic with a green decorative glaze the Frogilo is a summer and winter home and provides the perfect protection from predators.

It is great positioned near a pond or damp area in a quiet, cool, shaded area. With its part cut away base it provides contact with the cool soil in the summer but its ceramic shelf will be used as over-wintering quarters for toads and female frogs.

We know you’ll ‘toadily’ love it and the frogs will too!

Solitary bee hive

The buzz of a bee is the true sound of summer. There is nothing nicer than a glass of wine on a summer’s eve in a beautiful garden watching bees working away.

They are of our best pollinators and benefit all sorts of our flowers, fruit and vegetables so welcome them with open arms – and a nice place to live…

This little bee hive is constructed in durable FSC certified timber and is perfect for solitary bees. It’s fascinating to watch them create their little home within one of the holes.

This particular one can be carefully separated to view the formation of small cells where the eggs are laid – great for kids to learn all about these special little creatures!
